What we do
More than 10% of U.S. mortgage loans are with Chase. We funded 480,304 mortgages for home purchases in 2009 and 2010 combined and completed 959,511 mortgage refinances — many of these through the Home Affordable Refinance Program that helped borrowers take advantage of historically low interest rates. We are proud to be the largest originator of U.S. rural loans, helping low- and moderate-income families purchase homes in small towns across America.

We are also one of the nation's largest mortgage servicers, sending monthly statements and collecting payments for more than 8 million home loans with combined balances of $1.2 trillion. More than 3 million customer calls are handled each month. Chase is committed to helping families achieve and sustain homeownership, and our employees do everything possible to help our customers stay in their homes. Many customers are helped through the Chase Homeownership Centers, where we meet with borrowers, sponsor financial education programs, and assist with modification documents. In total, Chase has offered more than 1.1 million mortgage modifications since the beginning of 2009.
