Environmental Protection

Saving the wealth

As part of our commitment to applying high environmental standards to our global business activities, JPMorgan Chase has adopted a comprehensive environmental policy. The firm’s climate change policy is one aspect of this new strategic plan and includes targets such as: reducing the firm’s own greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs); developing new financial products and services to facilitate emissions reductions for clients; and investing in businesses that reduce or mitigate GHGs.

The firm has also adopted the Equator Principles. The Equator Principles serve as a framework for determining, assessing and managing environmental and social risk. Our policy covers such areas as, sustainable forestry, protection of critical natural habitats, illegal logging and needs of indigenous peoples.

In addition to the Equator Principles, our commitment to environmental protection also addresses issues, such as:
