The financial services industry has unique accounting terminology that is not taught in traditional accounting and finance classes at school; the quicker you learn these concepts the quicker you can understand JPMC’s business and can contribute at work.
While courses like Finance and Accounting have helped tremendously, the “soft skills” that I learned at business school have helped even more. Working in teams at school, you learn to delegate and rely on others, and learn to work with different personalities and work styles. I have applied these team experiences to my current job at JPMC.
I wanted to work for a firm that had exciting growth opportunities; JPMC has a lot of room to grow internationally both in its retail and institutional businesses.
